From Skepticism to Adoption: Our AI Journey
I was very skeptical about AI — and to be honest, I still am. I hope that nothing close to human, and especially beyond human intelligence, will ever be created. Hopefully never, because scenarios described in history like Dune or Warhammer could easily happen.

Still, I carefully track how fast AI develops. We often have calls with our tech lead and senior developers to discuss recent models and evaluate what’s achievable. But the decisive moment came during a meeting with a developer on one of my side projects. He actively implemented Cursor in his daily coding, and I realized the time when we could work as before was over. It wasn’t easy to integrate AI into our workflow, let’s just say I wasn’t the only skeptic.
We quickly reached a decision: we needed a success story where AI could significantly streamline development. The issue was that our best engineer, the one with the highest authority in the team, never believed AI would be truly useful in development. At the beginning of 2025, he had all the arguments to prove it. So the wall was higher and wider than it first appeared.
I knew the decision, but how to implement it? Then a great idea came to mind: what better way to prove the concept than if a designer could do full‑stack developer work? I asked our designer to draw and build a small membership website. He was excited about the opportunity, though maybe not super happy about it.
Do I need to say that we did it? But it wasn’t the end of the story, as you – and originally I – might have expected. After the WordPress membership website was done, we showed it to the team and received a few complaints:
It was a relatively easy project
The designer already had coding skills and often helped developers with code
The code quality wasn’t top‑level
Still, in the end, it gave me a strong argument to give AI a real try. We started building our own task management tool. We held two‑hour sessions every two days, and within a week we had a buggy MVP, but also a complete understanding of what frontier models were capable of writing.
Now we have a team of experts powered by the best AI models and our own task management tool. And developed our first AI Agent – AI Custom Blocks
P.S. Be careful: relying only on AI power can be dangerous for your business. But it an another story.
